The United States in the Colombian Peace Process

This article is based on my Master’s thesis about the role of the United States in the Colombian peace negotiations in Havana between 2012-2016. The negotiations were between the Colombian state and the Farc-EP guerilla and the talks received substantial international support. The objective of the negotiation was to find a peaceful solution to the armed conflict between the parties. This article seeks to describe the participation of the United States in the peace talks, as well as to detect the relevance of their support of the peace process in its current phase of implementation.
